Another trashy idea on Alberta

I made some trash enclosures for the Alberta Mainstreet coalition with some innovative ideas. They are clad with old street signs to make them visible and fun and also somewhat difficult to vandalize and they have storage on the top for cans and bottles for easy access for the folks who recycle. Special thanks to Cannon Beach for helping with the signs, Sara, the driving force behind the Mainstreet group and Larry whose strong back and will helped place the cans and move the project forward.

Another trashy idea on Alberta

Here are a few of my new sculptures at Springbox Gallery, NW 24th and York. I was going for interesting forms from a few pieces of steel, the color helps bring them alive. Please stop by and take a look as they are hard to capture with a photo.

Another trashy idea on Alberta

Stop by the latest New Seasons at Progress Ridge in Beaverton. I made a tree with over 1300 pieces of silverware as the leaves and Margaret Kuhn whipped up some fun ceramic “fruit” . The other end of the store has a waterfall of salmon which I installed with help from my friend Craig. Soon I’ll start on another project for New Seasons at their next store to open at Fishers Landing in Vancouver.
